Our Current School Goal:

By June, Osborne students will achieve mastery or proficiency standards in grade-level mathematics.

To achieve this goal, we will:

  • Strengthen foundational numeracy skills and mathematical reasoning.
  • Develop students' understanding of mathematical concepts through engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and the application of mathematics in real-world situations.
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and provide targeted support for student growth.
  • Foster a growth mindset by encouraging perseverance, risk-taking, and confidence in mathematics.
  • Support students in setting learning goals and reflecting on their progress.

Through intentional instruction, intervention, and enrichment opportunities, we will work together to ensure all students make meaningful progress toward achieving mastery and proficiency in grade-level mathematics.

In addition to our mathematics focus, Osborne School is committed to expanding the use of Experiential Play-Based Learning across our K-8 classrooms. We believe that meaningful, hands-on learning experiences help students develop curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills while making learning more engaging and relevant.

Our Implementation Goal:

To support teachers in implementing experiential play-based learning practices that enhance instruction, optimize student learning, and foster positive educational experiences for all students.

To achieve this goal, we will:

  • Incorporate hands-on, inquiry-driven, and student-centered learning experiences across grade levels.
  • Support teachers through professional learning and collaborative planning opportunities.
  • Create learning environments that encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.
  • Promote authentic learning experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world contexts.
  • Increase student engagement, voice, and ownership of learning.
  • Reflect on and refine instructional practices to ensure meaningful and inclusive learning opportunities for all students.

By embracing experiential play-based learning, we aim to strengthen instructional practices while creating dynamic classroom experiences that support student achievement, well-being, and lifelong learning.
